    Hello,

I live in Shanghai, and I'm looking for a medical insurance. Do you provide a full medical insurance (in-patient and out-patient)? If yes, I would like to receive some rough quotation(s) of your options (I am a completely healthy 30yo male), and I would also like to know the following:

    1. Do you have direct billing, and can I use it in all hospitals you have contracts with?

    2. I know different insurance plans have different options and limits, but am I free to choose which hospital to go to (as long as you have a contract with them), regardless of which plan do I have? So for example, if I have a cheaper plan (and thus a lower limit) can I still go, let's say, to WorldPath Clinic, and if I run out of money (limit) because they are more expensive then that's my problem, but I can still go there if I choose so? Or am I allowed to go to one of those good hospitals ONLY if I have some higher and more expensive plan?

    Thank you and best regards,
    Henryk Iwan

Hi Henryk, thanks for your enquiry. Here in China we work with various insurers who offer outpatient direct billing within their specified network of hospitals. It does differ from insurer to insurer, but provided that you have the outpatient direct billing facility on your plan then you can access any facility within their network irrelevant of the level of cover you have. This only applies to outpatient treatment, as all inpatient treatment is always directly billed anyway. You also have access to any medical facility of your choice regardless of whether it is listed in the outpatient network.

Furthermore, you can still choose to use another non-listed hospital, however this will be on a pay and claim basis. Our free services also include handling these claims all on your behalf, ensuring that your claim is handled efficiently.

We have sent you an email to get some additional information, so once you respond to that, we will be able to send over impartial advice on the various options available to you. Hope to speak with you soon!
